About
👋 Hi, I'm Jeremy (he/him), and this is my website!
I like to think about software and how it relates to people. I'm particularly interested in programming languages, computing education, and the processes surrounding software development. I find joy in the art, craft, science, and community of computer systems.
I'm also into video games (I'll play just about any platformer) and linguistics (how do words and sentences?).
I'm an alum of the Recurse Center (S1 '24), and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to become a better programmer. If you want some extra encouragement to apply (I needed that myself!), please talk to me!

Work history
I was most recently a software engineer at Kaizen Labs making recreation management systems for state and local governments. Before that, I worked at Stytch, Gusto and MemSQL (now SingleStore).
Before becoming an industry programmer, I was a student at MIT, and I consider my teaching assistant role in 6.01 to be an influential part of my early career.
I keep a copy of my resume reasonably up-to-date with all the relevant details.
