About

👋 Hi, I'm Jeremy (he/him), and this is my website!

I like to think about software and how it relates to people. I'm particularly interested in programming languages, computing education, and the processes surrounding software development. If it's related to the art, craft, science, or community of programming, I'm probably interested.

I'm also into video games (I'll play just about any platformer), linguistics (how do words and sentences?), and eating good food in new places.

I'm an alum of the Recurse Center (S1 '24), and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to become a better programmer. If you need encouragement to apply (I did!), please talk to me!

Here's where you can find me on the internet:

Work history#

I'm currently working at Kaizen Labs making our platform robust enough to handle our ambitious scale while also keeping development as simple as possible (we're hiring!).

Before that, I worked at Stytch on a whole bunch of web backend things. Before that, I was at Gusto and MemSQL (now SingleStore).

Before becoming a real industry programmer, I was a student at MIT, and I consider my teaching assistant role in 6.01 a large part of my career.
