Hello, World!

This is the only way I know how to start anything.

I finally have my first real web presence that isn’t owned by a social media company, and I’m excited to see how it turns out. I’ve been inspired by the resurgence of personal websites as a way of decentralizing content and returning the focus to the individuals who make up the internet. I just don’t have a clear idea of what I can contribute, since I’ve exclusively been a content consumer this whole time.

I’ve resolved to start a blog pretty much every year since Myspace turned into a music site. Clearly, I never actually did. This time, I wrote down ideas for posts before writing this intro. I also paid, like, real money for the domain name, and the $12 of sunk cost really will drive me to dump my thoughts into text files and put them on the internet. Gotta play my weaknesses against each other like that.

I think I have some cool ideas that aren’t total rehashes of other people’s projects or opinions. Time to put my markdown where my mouth is!
